Tottenham have allowed striker Emmanuel Adebyaor to return to Togo on compassionate leave, reports London Evening Standard.
Adebayor has been writing about personal problems surrounding his family on facebook in recent weeks and yesterday admitted he had even considered suicide.
It means he will miss the club’s last match of the campaign at Everton on Sunday and is not expected to be involved in the post-season matches in Malaysia and Australia.
The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker confirmed early last month of his intention to remain with the club, despite talk that he will be sold this summer.
The striker was close to joining West Ham on loan during the January transfer window, but Adebayor insisted he will ‘fight’ to stay at the club.
