Azubuike Named CAF Best Player

Dream team six captain Azubuike Okechukwu has been named the best player of the just concluded under-23 Africa Nations Cup.

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) confirmed the good news Monday on their official website.

The 18-year old midfielder who plays for Turkish side Yeni Mala Tyaspor was picked ahead of team mate Etebo Oghenekaro who finished second according to the CAF technical study group.

Etebo also won the golden boot for emerging as the top scorer of the competition while Daniel was beaten by Algeria’s Abdelkadir Salhi to the best goalkeeper award.

The fair play award went to South Africa who won the losers final.
