Let’s all wish Arthur Darvill a happy birthday! Today, the actor celebrates his 34th birthday.
Darvill, who’s perhaps best known for his work as Rory on Doctor Who, should also look familiar to fans of the CW’sLegends of Tomorrow.
Darvill plays Rip Hunter on the show as the team’s powerful leader who travels through time to create a rag-tag group of DC Comics’ heroes and villains. The show, which focused its first season on taking down Vandal Savage, was well-received by fans and got green-lighted for a second season which will air this Fall.
Prior to the actor’s stint on Legends of Tomorrow, Darvill was cast as a companion to the Eleventh Doctor on BBC’sDoctor Who.
Darvill debuted in the fifth season of the rebooted series alongside the Doctor’s other companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) before exiting in the seventh season. Playing a lovable nurse-turned-space explorer, Doctor Who solidified Darvill’s reputation as a talented, upcoming actor.
While Darvill’s acting career has been undoubtedly successful, the actor is also known for his singing chops as Darvill is also a musician and producer. In April 2013, Darvill was even able to combine his two loves of music and theater when the actor was cast in the West End’s musical production of Once as the lead male role, Guy.
Arthur Darvill was born June 17th 1982 in Birmingham, England to his parents, Ellie and Nigel Darvill.
