Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Will No Longer Use Live Owls

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has removed the use of live owls from its show.

The recognizable companion of Harry, named Hedwig, was originally being played by live trained barn owls, but unfortunately, an incident at a recent show has led to that being changed.

At a previous show, the owl did not return to its trainer, and instead flew out into the auditorium.

That led to a statement from the Producers, who said:

“earlier this week the decision was made not to feature live owls in any aspect of the production moving forward.”

While it’s disappointing that the plan didn’t work out, the good news is that the owls are perfectly fine, and according to the producers are being “expertly cared for” by their trainers and vets.
