The impressive thing about the WhatsApp is that the developers keep updating it with new features every now and then.

In case you aren’t aware, WhatsApp has recently included few more most needed features to its iPhone app. You can now add Bold, Italics, and Strikethrough text messaged from your iPhone/Andriod using WhatsApp. Like all other features of the app, this too is quite simple to use. It’s not immediately obvious how to access the new options since the app does not include them in the small selection menu you can access by pressing and holding on a word in iOS.

As long as you have the latest version of WhatsApp running on your smartphone, the chosen word or phrase will embolden, italicise or strikethrough after it has sent.

These codes can also be used online via the WhatsApp Web Client, but the formatting will only appear in the app-based version of the chats.

The news comes as WhatsApp announced it would be dropping support for its BlackBerry app.

By the end of this year, the popular messenger will no longer be available on Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 and Windows Phone 7.1.
