Despite triggering his 20million pounds release clause, offering him a higher pay and conducting a medical on him, Arsenal is concerned that Leicester City star, Jamie Vardy could turn down the London club and stay at the King Power Stadium.
According to Daily Mirror UK, the England striker, who is currently in France for Euro 2016, had promised the Gunners an answer on Monday but the club did not receive one while reports emerging same day say that the Foxes have offered him an improved deal of about 140,000 pounds per week, 40k more than Arsenal’s hundred and 60k more than his current 80,000.
In a separate development, incoming Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte is said to be set to offer another Leicester City star, N’Golo Kante a five-year-deal in order to tempt the African to turn down an offer from PSG if he chooses to leaves the King Power Stadium.
Vardy and Kante are prominent members of the Premier League title winning Leicester team who have come under serious pressure to move to bigger clubs.
Another star player on the books is midfielder Riyahd Mahrez, who, The Sun UK reported on Monday has been contacted by Arsenal.
