Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is set to land his first major signing of the summer in £35million Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko.
French newspaper L’Equipe reports that the 22-year-old is on his way to London for a medical and to agree personal terms, after both clubs settled on a fee.
It is understood that Chelsea believe the signing will officially be announced next week.
The Premier League champions have fought off competition from Manchester United and Manchester City as well as a host of top European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for Bakayoko.
His move will however cast doubt over the futures of Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic at Stamford Bridge, with Conte almost certain to pair Bakayoko with last season’s Player of the Year, N’Golo Kante .
Monaco, meanwhile have swiftly found a replacement for the Frenchman, in Soualiho Meite.
