Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, has said that Arsene Wenger’s decision to drop Alexis Sanchez for their 3-1 loss at Liverpool on Saturday, could make him leave in the summer.
The Chile international’s future remains uncertain, with his current contract set to expire at the end of next season.
Alexis was made to watch the first half from the bench, before Wenger sent him on after the break, after the Gunners went two goals down.
He went on to set up Danny Welbeck for Arsenal’s only goal, before a late goal from Georginio Wijnaldum killed off the game.
I’d be thinking ‘if I can’t get in this team — hammered out of the Champions League and not in the top four — I know there’ll be other teams’,” Wright told BT Sport.
“He has nothing to lose now. It was a strange game to leave him out of, it baffled me.”
