This was disclosed in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Femi Adesina.
“In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the President has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly ‘that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation’,” the statement said.
President Buhari returned to Nigeria on Friday, March 10 after leaving the country for UK on January 19th. He transferred power to vice president Yemi Osinbajo, who acted in his capacity until today. He was billed to return on February 5, but wrote the National Assembly informing them of his intention to remain in the UK to complete and receive some tests results.
