Senator Decries Communal Conflicts In Cross River

SENATOR John Owan Enoh, the senator representing Central senatorial district, Cross River State, has expressed dismay over the incessant communal conflicts in the district.

Senator Enoh told Vanguard that the wanton destruction of lives in the area in the past one year must stop, saying,

“It is with pain in my heart that I learned of another round of bloodletting between the people of Ediba and Usumutong communities both of Abi Local Government Area, of the central senatorial district.

This must stop immediately. In spite of my belief in the sanctity of human life the right of our people to peaceful coexistence remains unshakable. It is in the light of the above, that I condemn this latest round of hostilities and urgently call on the warring communities to sheathe their swords, embrace peace, and refrain from all actions capable of leading to the further breakdown of law and order.”
