Nigeria’s U-23 coach at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Samson Siasia has declared that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has done a marvellous job with national team since taking over in August.
Rohr took over from Siasia after he failed to qualify the team for the Africa Cup of Nations drawing at home and losing away to Egypt. But the Eagles, under Rohr have romped to three successive victories including the 3-1 win over Algeria in yesterday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, a development, which put the Eagles in firm position to pick the group B ticket.
He has done well in the last games, particularly the game against Zambia, it’s not easy to win away in Zambia. I would say that he has done a good job. But we all know that the team is a work in progress,” said Siasia who won bronze at the Rio 2016 Games, Nigeria’s only medal.
