Street-Fighting Legend Kimbo Slice Dies At Age 42


The combat-sports world suffered a loss on Monday following the death of Bellator heavyweight and street-fighting legend Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson.

Slice (5-2), 42, was a transcendent star in MMA who brought mainstream attention to every fight he had. But more importantly, he was praised for being kind and generous to friends, family and teammates outside the cage.

News of the professional mixed martial artist’s death comes after reports, that Ferguson was hospitalized on Monday in South Florida.

Police told the sports network that the 42-year-old was taken to the hospital for undisclosed reasons, adding that due the the fact that he was a public figure, officers were sent to his home to prevent any gathering that may have occurred outside.

At the time of hospitalization, police were unable to provide extensive details, but they did tell report that no 911 call was made and there is not an investigation into the matter.
