Unemployment: Arise O Nigeria Targets ICT Training For Delta Indegenes — Exclusives Media
As part of efforts to shift attention from white collar jobs to self-empowerment and employment, ARISE O NIGERIA, a UN Endorsed NGO registered in Nigeria has decided to sponsor the training of carefully selected young unemployed graduates, NYSC Members serving in Delta state to acquire skills in Information Technology.
The President of the organization, Amb. Jonathan Daniel Ojadah, stated this in his press briefing held in Ikeja, Lagos.
According to Amb. Jonathan, the initiative is to make these selected indigenes of Delta become potential employers of labour in the ever developing IT market.
He said: ” Arise O Nigeria is A Wake Up Call towards Achieving the UN Agenda 2030 – Empowering Youths and Women toward Achieving the Sustainable development goals in Nigeria ”
Jonathan said that this development is part of the implementations following communique delivered at the inaugural conference held last year In October 20th, 2016 which recorded the presence of UN women Executives & Youth advocate, Mr Ayodeji Adedoyin, Prof Chris Nwaokobia Jnr., Sen. Folashade Bent, Prince Godswill Edward & many more who where speakers at this event.
The 2nd Annual program will be hosted by the Delta State Government which has been endorsed by the Delta State Ministry of Culture & Tourism, facilitated through the Hon. Commissioner, Dan Okenyi. The event will feature a Leadership Symposium & PAN Nigeria Humanitarian Ambassador Awards which will record attendance of Top dignitaries from different part of the country..
The NGO has within the 1st year of establishment started empowerment projects in Egbe Idimu, Alimosho LGA of Lagos state which include award of educational scholarships to students, provision of free eye glasses to the aged & free medical check-up. It is now time to move to South South and we have chosen Delta, my own state and we will strongly focus on laudable projects including provision of borehole water to needy communities and massive ICT training programs. He stated..
He further said the organization intends to create a data base for eminent personalities of the state both living and dead who have distinguished themselves in their various careers and professions.
